Rights Respecting School

We are a Silver Rights Respecting School. This means that our school is a safe and inspiring place for our pupils to learn. It is a place where everyone is respected, including our children, and we nurture everyone in our community to help them to thrive. Using the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) as our guide, we embed these values into daily school life, giving children the best chance to lead happy, healthy lives and to be responsible, active citizens.

Our Super Leaders initiative is at the heart of our Rights Respecting Work. Super Leaders ensures that children’s rights are at the heart of everything we do, weaving them into our everyday work and play. As well as looking at how these rights enrich our day to day lives, we also explore what it means for other children across the globe, and look at ways in which we can be responsible and active global citizens by campaigning for change and supporting causes across the world as well as close to home, to ensure every child is able to experience the same rights and opportunities.

There are over 50 children’s rights on the UNCRC, all of which are important. Click on the link below to find out more.
